Langfjorðs Sliehtwulfas – What’s in a name…

loh

A deep history, embracing the events of 991. The battle of Maldon.

The tale of the fateful Saxon Earl Brythnoth, and his failed attempt to stop the marauding Vikings raiding along the Essex coast.

A battle that took place mere moments from our Langford base.

On the very outskirts of Maldon, we use the area of Langford, but adding the Scandinavian Fjord instead of Ford, coupled with a line from the great poem, describing the advancing Vikings as slaughter wolves complete the group name, to be both honorary to the poem, and unpronounceable.
